A Cosmetic Dentist Can Restore Your Damaged Tooth

Cosmetic Dentist

Cosmetic DentistIf your tooth has been damaged, a cosmetic dentist can restore it beautifully. At Fine Dental, we are the experts at cosmetic dentistry and can turn average teeth into something spectacular, giving you a gorgeous smile.  Many people need to have teeth restored during their lifetime.  Car accidents, slip and falls, workplace injuries, and oral health problems are all reasons for needing to have your tooth corrected.

We have a variety of options for restoring teeth that include:

  • Dental veneers.  A dental veneer is an excellent option for restoring a damaged tooth or enhancing your smile.  A veneer is a thin shell that is placed directly on top of your existing tooth. It is made to match your teeth perfectly so that no one can tell that you had a dental procedure completed.  A veneer can make teeth the same length, close gaps in the teeth, straighten a tooth and restore one that is cracked or chipped.
  • Dental crowns.  A crown can accomplish something similar to a dental veneer with a major difference.  A dental crown surrounds the tooth like a cap and can, therefore, makes it stronger while keeping bacteria and plaque off of the tooth. This is ideal for teeth that have been damaged due to infection and have needed a major procedure like a root canal.  Crowns used to be made in metal materials only.  Now they come in ceramic-on-metal and all-ceramic, as well.  This gives patients the ability to have a crown placed on a visible tooth and gain the benefits from its durability without negatively impacting their appearance.

If teeth have fallen out or need to be pulled, a cosmetic dentist can replace the missing tooth with a permanent solution.  The two most common are:

  • Dental implants. Implants are a permanent solution for replacing missing teeth.  A cosmetic dentist implants a metal piece underneath the gum line and secures it to the jawbone in order to create a new synthetic root system.  This is a surgical procedure but replaces the tooth, in a way, that is completely independent of the surrounding teeth.  It is natural and durable and will not cause any wear and tear on the surrounding teeth.
  • Dental bridge.  Those that don’t want a surgical procedure can have a bridge installed in order to replace a missing tooth.  With a dental bridge, a crown is installed on the two teeth next to the missing tooth.  A bridge is created using the crowns as an anchor, and a synthetic tooth is attached to the bridge. This is an excellent and natural looking solution that does not require any surgery.

As an experienced cosmetic dentist, we have the ability to use a variety of dental procedures to restore your damaged teeth or to replace ones that have been lost.  Modern dental technology has made it possible to have the smile that you have always wanted with minimal discomfort at the expert hands of New York’s, Fine Dental clinic.
